Inter-run
Providing interim pastoral care through Dale Freed Ministry
The interim between pastors should not be a pause or a stop sign in the
life of the local church. Rather, a careful self-examination and evaluation,
prayerful transition toward the future.
We will help build:
A Healthy Church
A Healthy Transition
A Healthy Pastoral Relationship
Using coaching methods to empower churches to break through to
healthy ministry by focused prayer and “Rethinking Church”.
Our Coach
Dale Freed is a general evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene. With 25
years of pastoral experience, exposure to hundreds of local churches and
as a certified coach, Dale is prepared to skillfully walk a local church down
a path of mature decision making that guides them to look at their past,
present, facilities, location and personality as they diligently seek God for
the next phase in the life of the church.
Process
We will work with a local church for a four to six week period, offering
interim pastoral care with a focus toward a healthy transition to a new
pastor.
For various reasons local churches need some time to regroup and
prepare themselves to make their next pastoral relationship successful.
Many times a pastoral choice is made reactively rather than methodically
examining and evaluating the needs of the congregation and community.
Dale Freed, through the Inter-run program is committed to diagnosing the
issues to be addressed and coaching the local church and its leadership
to healthy, Godly attitudes that result in a strong pastoral decision.
We connect to a local church by the recommendation of the District
Superintendent. We begin by getting an objective profile from the district
and their assessment of the needs of the local church.
Our program lifts the burden from the shoulders of the D. S. and invests in
the health of churches that many times consume a great deal of the
district’s time and attention.
HERE IS WHAT WE DO IN THIS INTERIM ROLE:
1. Offer pastoral care to the congregation. Offering a sense of continuity
and security in the uncertainty of pastoral change.
2. Coach the leadership team to discover by answering some powerful
questions…
a. Who are we?
b. What do we really value?
c. Where are we headed?
d. How are we going to get there?
3. Help the leadership team shape great questions for the interview
process with candidates.
4. Set up the congregation to pray together. This is done by putting the
"willing" into groups of three. They are committed to praying together every
week for three months. They will be praying about the pastoral search and
the overall needs of the church.
5. Have Fun! Seriously! We laugh a lot and help the church enjoy the
process of the new opportunity that is ahead of them.
6. Keep an open conversation with the District Superintendent as to the
needs of the church and the progress we are making.
Cost
Our rates are reasonable and we will work with both the district and the
local church to make the process attainable. The investment in this
process can reap untold benefits as the local church functions in a healthy
manner as they retain a pastor’s services for many years.
Call for exact pricing based on proximity and church size.
