We are excited about coming to your church for special services. We will be
focusing on encouraging your people to take huge steps of faith. We will be
motivating them to extraordinary living. They won’t get it if they are not there. Here
are some suggestions to maximize this opportunity for the excitement of revival to
impact every person in your congregation

Involve everyone! Literally!
Find a role for every person.; especially those who are new or not at the core of your
ministry. This will take a team of creative thinkers, in fact, here is the perfect place to
begin. Pull in people who can think outside the box. This could be someone who
simply has never been exposed to anything like a Revival service. If it’s a whole new
thought to them, they will see it differently than you do. That is good! Let them run
wild with ideas to promote and involve everyone. Pastor, don’t do this alone.
Make it a challenge to see if you could find someplace to plug in every person in your
church.
Here are just a few ideas. Some of these are more developed than others. By the
way,
If you have ideas that have worked for you, send them to me and I will post them
here. Send ideas for revival promo to www.dalefreed@hotmail.com.

Special Prayer meetings:
Get your people before God in prayer and He will do mighty
things. There is a distinct difference in the tone of services that have been immersed
in prayer and those that have been sprinkled.
Set up special times that are specifically for this series of services and guard it from
distractions. You will see also on this page a document called "Praying for Revival".
Print those scriptures and have your prayer team pray through these verses.

Hospitality: Plan for guests at the services and plan for people to greet them.
It is also nice to have someone who serves as a host to the Evangelist and his wife,
coordinating accommodations, meals, or special events for them. If you have
someone with the gift of hospitality, they will know what to do, and can run with the
ball.

Worship: Involve you people in all of these areas as well.
Music: pre-service, offeratory, special songs

Testimonies: especially from those who are seeing answered prayer leading up to
revival. Have someone each night take 5 minutes to tell how they received Christ or
Sanctification.

Scripture reading:

Sound system:

Promotion
: Keep this series of services constantly before your people. Urge them to
make this time a priority. Every time they come together, Sunday, Wednesday, small
groups, whenever they are together for at least 6 weeks make sure everyone knows
that this  revival is a critical moment in the life of your church. Build expectation for
the mighty move of God in their lives. Say it, Pray it, Print it, Project it. Keep it in front
of them.
We had one church promote so well that one man scheduled his vacation for the
revival since he worked second shift and it was the only way he could be there.

Involve food:
Consider having dinner before one of the week night services to make it easier for
families to get to there. It adds another incentive to come. .

After service fellowship with evangelist: An afterglow is a fun time to get better
acquainted. You may also use this as a Q&A time as well.

Ice cream social: We have had groups do a grand finale for the services with an Ice
Cream social. It is simple to get each person to bring something to go with the ice
cream and recruit people to serve and clean up.

Involve other churches
Pastors: Invite area pastors to attend the services.
Music/ Talent: Ask an area church to provide music for one of the services.
Work with other churches, or through the local ministers group and sponsor a
community wide service.

Special emphasis nights:
Youth: pizza after service with evangelist and time for Q&A

Men’s Breakfast w/ Dale

Women’s Lunch with Marilyn

Change the Format:
Seminar setting: If your facilities and the size of your group allow it, set up in a
seminar setting with tables. Provide Dale with a white board and get out of the way!

Publicity 101
Make visual reminders of the meetings for your people. We are providing you with a
promotional CD that contains a template for a poster. Have these placed in business
windows and on public Bulletin boards.
If you have power point capability, feel free to incorporate the pictures on the
promotional CD we send to you prior to your meeting.

The best advertising is word of mouth. Invite friends, family, co-workers and
neighbors.

The Media: Use the media resources that are available to you. Radio bulletin board
announcements; Some TV stations even offer free Public service announcements.
Be sure to let other holiness Churches know about the meetings.  (Provide digital
graphics to churches who use power point.)

The Hook! A good theme or title always helps.
Terms like Summit or Conference are
excellent. "Holiness Summit"; "Higher Ground Conference",.

Financing Your Special Services
Plan ahead. If you put special services in your church budget it speaks volumes
about the priority for renewal.

Set up a special fund that people can contribute to and tell them what the goal
amount is.

Teach the principles of sowing into their own spiritual lives and that of their fellow
believers. (Where your treasure is…)
Prayer for Revival
We are convinced that there is real power in preparation for revival.
Planning for the details of the meetings is critical, but if we cross all the “T”s and dot
all the “I”s of logistical preparation and miss the “Heart “ preparation we will have
nothing but an empty shell where revival could have Flowed.

Prayer and fasting are critical as well as personal and corporate introspection. We
would recommend and urge you to schedule a series of prayer sessions dedicated to
this series of services and really pray with fervent expectation for God to move in an
unusual way.  Pray for spiritual hunger, conviction of sin, and God given courage to
take huge steps of faith.

Below are some scriptures to pray through with an eye toward renewal. Print them
and distribute them to your people. Pray through them in your prayer services.

Worship:  Philippians 2:9-11
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is
above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven
and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Confession:    Nehemiah 9:16-17
16 “But they, our forefathers, became arrogant and stiff-necked, and did not obey
your commands. 17 They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you
performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a
leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and
compassionate; slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert
them.

Holy Spirit:  Luke 10:9-13
8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the
door will be opened. 9 “Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in
heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Unity:  John 17:20-23
20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me
through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me
and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have
sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as
we are one: 23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let
the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Vision:  Philipians3:12-14
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I
press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do
not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is
behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the
prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Freedom:  John 8:32-36
32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33 They answered
him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How
can you say that we shall be set free?” 34 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth,
everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the
family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free
indeed.

Peace:  John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world
gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Fruit:  John 15: 4-7&16
4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must
remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the
vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much
fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like
a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into
the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever
you wish, and it will be given you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and
appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you
whatever you ask in my name.

God’s Will:   Romans 8:26-28
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we
ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words
cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit,
because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. 28 And we
know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been
called according to his purpose.

Transformation:   Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living
sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not
conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing
of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good,
pleasing and perfect will.

Provision:  2 Corinthians 9:8-11
8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: “He
has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” 10
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and
increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11
You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion,
and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

Comfort:  2 Corinthians 1:3-4
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that
we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received
from God.

Open Eyes:  2 Corinthians 3:16-18
16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is
the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we, who with
unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with
ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Godly Sorrow:  2 Corinthians 7:9-11
9 now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led
you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not
harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation
and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11 See what this godly sorrow
has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what
indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice
done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

Strength:  Galatians 6:9-10
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a
harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to
all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Maturity:  Ephesians 4:14-15
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown
here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men
in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things
grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

Boldness:  Ephesians 6:19-20
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that
I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an
ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Thanksgiving:  Ephesians 2:4-7
4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive
with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been
saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly
realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the
incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
